VAX-D Spinal Decompression technology was created to help low back pain sufferers with herniated discs, degenerated discs, facet syndrome and sciatica. These patients now have a better chance of fully resuming a completely normal personal and social life without the risks, complications and ineffectiveness associated with surgery. There are approximately 600,000 spinal surgeries per year and some research indicates very low percentages of all back surgery are successful years later and many patients may need another surgery. VAX-D Spinal Decompression therapy has been used over the past 20 years on people from all walks of life including some of the most recognizable professional sports athletes. Over 65,000 people per year are being treated worldwide in over 400 clinics. Please view the videos and see why VAX-D is powerful therapy.

VAX-D stands for Vertebral Axial Decompression. Let’s begin with a review of how this amazing piece of machinery called your spine can cause you so much pain. Your back structures are under an incredible amount of pressure from the effects of gravity, weight, and consistent daily activities, which imposes a lot of downward weight on your spine.<br>
Your discs, ligaments and back muscles are the shock absorbers that function to protect your back from the daily abuse. And normally your healthy discs are extremely tough. Healthy spinal discs have plump inside with water and nutrients surrounded by a tough outer layer. They provide the perfect shape and resistance to perform the job of a spinal shock absorber.

Over the course of your life, a number of problems can occur with the spinal discs. The effect of injuries, age, increasing weight, wear and tear, poor posture, and everyday activities put a tremendous amount of pressure on your back and your discs. This constant pressure contributes to the spinal disc decreasing its strength, also called ‘degeneration’. When the spinal disc degenerates it will lose vital fluids, it may dry out and can become hard and brittle. This results in tears and bulging. This degenerative spinal process generally goes on before you feel any pain. But normally, an accident, sudden movement or normal bending and turning may trigger a disc tear or disc bulge. This may result in pressure against your spinal nerves brought on by these damaged spinal discs is what causes the pain, which for many people can be unbearable and incapacitating.

ther inversion tables, commonly called: traction, will not produce this important vacuum effect since the muscles that surround the spinal joint are strong and, when any attempt to stretch the spinal joint is neurologically sensed, the spinal muscles will contract vigorously and thus not allowing the vacuum effect. Many publications on traction will show that the spinal disc pressure will actually increase rather than decrease. For this reason, the VAX-D Spinal Decompression is so effective and furthermore federally patented in the USA. VAX-D Spinal Decompression's patented pulling mechanism is an engineered algorithm for the pull curve is gradual and logarithmic. VAXD Spinal Decompression "fools" the muscles, which allow separation to occur between the discs, resulting in the reduction of intra-discal pressure and accompanying spinal disc decompression. Extensive research has shown this to be true.

BENEFITS OF VAXD Spinal Decompression The effectiveness of VAXD Spinal Decompression Therapy has been espoused in published medical journals and many clinical studies, which emphasize the benefits achieved with the majority of patients:

•   Relief of acute and/or chronic low back pain
•   Relief of leg pain and/or leg numbness
•   Early return to work
•   Non-invasive and safe
•   No patient hospitalization

HOW IS VAXD Spinal Decompression TREATMENT APPLIED? Patients with low back or neck pain are first examined and further evaluated with orthopedic and neurological testing. Patient medical histories, X-rays and CT/MRI films are reviewed to determine if the patient can qualifies for the VAXD procedure. If qualified for VAXD Spinal Decompression Therapy an individual plan (usually consisting of 25 treatment sessions) is developed to meet their specific diagnosis. Each VAXD session is carefully monitored. Each VAXD session is also reviewed in order to maximize the potential benefits and progress to the patient.

Spinal Decompression Foster City

VAXD sessions begin with fitting a patented pelvic harness to the patient designed to achieve decompression of the lumbar spine. Patient lie fully clothed on the VAXD Spinal Decompression table and are properly positioned by Certified VAXD Technician. The VAXD controls and parameters are adjusted with the individual patient's therapy plan. The VAXD procedure commences. The VAXD computerized table will then apply precisely controlled tension along the axis of the spinal column to distract the vertebral segments and posterior joints of the low back and decompress the spinal discs. Each distraction cycle will last sixty seconds then followed by sixty-second relaxation cycle.
Each VAXD therapy session consists of fifteen continuous cycles of distraction/relaxation. The sessions last about thirty minutes. Spinal Decompression treatment is managed automatically by a program located in the computer-programmed console that is continuously monitored by the technician. A therapy chart record is printed of the parameters during each and every VAXD cycle. The chart recording is readily available for the review by the VAXD technician and treating physician
