Consumer Alert
"Would you buy a Hyundai based on Volvo safety rating?"
"No! So, when someone quotes you VAX-D research and then shows you a different table, DO NOT EXPECT THE SAME RESULTS"
Due to the unprecedented success of VAX-D with low back pain there are many Copy-Cat machines quoting VAX-D research. Beware of other traditional traction tables that advertise as decompression. VAX-D is patented technology that is cleared by the FDA. It has published RESULTS and proven decompression of the disc (study #1 below.)
Ask any doctor to see the research! Every week, I see patients who have tried other so-called "decompression" tables. Be careful what they are selling you.

VAX-D Medical Studies & Publications.

1. Journal of Neurosurgery (Vol. 81: 350-353, 1994) Effects of Vertebral Axial Decompression on Intradiscal Pressure University of Texas, San Antonio, TX
RESULTS: proof that VAX-D creates a negative intradiscal pressure force up to -160mmHg.
2. Journal of Neurological Research (Vol. 26, April 2004) Efficacy of Vertebral Axial Decompression on Chronic Low Back Pain Dr. Gustav Ramos, Valley Neurological Center, McAllen, Texas
RESULTS: This 744 patient study showed 76% achieved remission of pain. Except in emergent conditions, VAX-D should be used on all patients before surgery is undertaken.
3. Canadian Journal of Clinical Medicine (Vol. 5, No.1, January 1998) The Effects of VAX-D on Sensory Nerve Dysfunction in Patients with Low Back Pain and Radiculopathy by Tilaro & Miscovich
RESULTS: The average pain reduction was 77%.
4. Journal of Neurological Research (Vol. 20, No.3, April 1998) Vertebral Axial Decompression Therapy for Pain Associated with Herniated or Degenerative Discs or Facet Syndrome: Outcome Study of 778 Cases Gose E., Ph.D, Naguszewski w., MD, Naguszewski R, MD
RESULTS: The authors consider VAX-D to be a primary modality for low back pain for lumbar herniations at single and multiple levels, degenerative discs and facet arthropathy, and decreased spinal mobility.
5. Anesthesiology News, (Vol. 29, No.3, March 2003) VAX-D Reduces Chronic Discogenic Low Back Pain- 4 year Study Robert H Odell, M.D, Ph.D, Daniel A Boudreau, D.O.
RESULTS: Four year follow-up after VAX-D treatment shows a sustained 86% reduction in pain and that 91% of patients resumed their normal activities.
6. Neurological Research Journal (Vol. 23, p. 706-714, October 2001) Dermatosomal Somatosensory Evoked Potential Demonstration of Nerve Root Decompression after VAX-D Therapy William K. Naguszewski, M.D, Robert K. Naguszewski, M.D, Coosa Medical Group, Earl E. Gose, Ph.D; Dept. of Neurology Dept. of Bioengineering, University of Illinois
RESULTS: Pain reduction in the study group was 77% with successful decompression of the nerve roots at multiple levels.
7. Neurological Research Journal (Vol. 23, p. 780-784, October 2001) A Prospective Randomized Controlled Study of VAX-D and Tens for the Treatment of Chronic Low Back Pain Department of Orthopedics, Sydney University, Eugene Sherry, MD., F.RAC.S., Peter Kitchener, MB.B.S. FRANZCR, Russel Smart, MB, ChB.
RESULTS: Significant reduction in pain and improvement in functional outcome was obtained in patients with chronic low back pain treated with VAX-D.
8. Canadian Journal of Clinical Medicine (Vol. 6, No.1, January 1999) An Overview of Vertebral Axial Decompression by Frank Tilaro, MD.
RESULTS: VAX-D is significantly capable of influencing sensory nerve dysfunction associated with a compressive radiculopathy. Complete remission was achieved by 73% of the study group.
9. Journal of Orthopedic & Sports Physical Therapy (Vol. 35, No.1, January 2005) Short and Long-term Outcomes Following Treatment with the Vax-D Protocol for Patients with Chronic, Activity-limiting Low Back Pain University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC; Lebanon Valley College, Lancaster, PA; Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA
RESULTS: Significant improvements in a sample of patients with unfavorable prognosis due to chronic low back pain.
